Now Magazine Can Blow Me

So I decided to pick up the local Toronto weekly, Now Magazine today. Traditionally Now is a fairly bleeding heart paper, and I've grow to except that.....and a lot of the times even respect it.......but this week they've managed to piss me off more than usual.

Once again they have ran one of they're usual "Cyclists are the best people in the universe, cars suck" stories. Now, I think that I'm one of the few people that live in this city that uses all four methods of transport that is available to us; I walk, take the TTC, drive, and yes, bike. With that said I have a few things to say to all of you cyclists out there that think that they are greater than Christ because they're "saving the planet" and that everyone should get the Fuji out of they're way just because they hopped on a foreskin' mountain bike.

First off the majority of cyclists in Toronto have no fucking clue where the hell they're going or what a god damn traffic signal is. If you get cut off by a car after you burn though a red light, don't signal, and ride in a cars blind spot, you most likely going down.

What you people don't seem to realize is that YOU ARE CONSIDERED A VEHICLE! If I'm in my car and I'm turning right - LEGALLY, with my signal on and everything - I don't expect to see your ass trying to squeeze by me.

If you are so damn concerned about safety then learn how to drive. According to the ACTUAL laws - not the ones that cyclists rights groups have some how dreamed up - you don't have the right of way, a pedestrian does.

Now don't get me wrong, I do agree that there are a resounding amount of dicksmacks that should never have gotten a drivers license, but that doesn't mean that every car, truck or pedestrian has to get the hell out of your way because your "bettering our city".

If your not one of those people and don't ride down a one way street where people aren't expecting you and you actually yield to a car turning right 20 yards ahead of you - good for you. If not you are everything that is wrong with Toronto and you can go fuck your self.
